Often associated with plantar fasciitis, heel pain can be uncomfortable and crippling during normal walking. There are many reasons for heel pain such as plantar fasciitis (the irritation and swelling of the bottom of the heel bone resulting from improper footwear or injury) as well as muscle imbalances of the lower leg that put extra stress on the feet in general.

This painful condition can be treated using many different types of methods such as ultrasound and shockwave therapy, stretching exercises, braces and/or straps, proper prescribed footwear and custom made orthotic inserts. This condition is very common in people ages 16 to 75 and should be treated early to prevent long term negative effects.
